Madaari the man who makes monkeys dance. Well here we are talking about the new Irrfan Khan movie Madaari. The movie is a social thriller based on real life event that took place at the under-construction overhead Metro bridge on Andheri-Kurla Road in suburban Marol in 2012. It might seem like just another movie based on a real life accident, showing the problems faced by people affected and political issues linked to that. But we might get something more in the story. By giving the name Madaari to the movie, we might think why this name. But it has its roots in it.
The movie shows how the powerful people (madaari) controls the common man (Jhamoora) with the help of damaroo (small two sided drum). But what if the damaroo (power) goes in hands of common man that is the people around, what will happen. Something similar happens when the father(Irrfan Khan) of a child(whose son is killed in the accident) kidnaps the son of home minister and asks him to take political decisions as per his wish. Here comes the role of Jimmy Shergill as a police officer who is asked to find the kidnapper and get the kid back. The movie is directed by Ace director NishikantKamatwho gave us movies like Drishyam and Mumbai MeriJaan. He has a rigorous research on the topic before starting the shoot just to make sure that facts shown don’t go wrong. Music is by Vishal Bhardwaj.Irrfan Khan is known for his serious roles. And irfan khan give insurance of entertainement to his fans. His roles usually have their own story somewhere inside. And after giving us movies like Talvar and Jazbaa, we are expecting this one also to be a greater kind.
